Artist's Comments
This was a sketchbook assignment in my freshman year in Drawing Media. Yes, this is old now. The topic was, “What is your favorite artist?” Well, I chose Clamp, since I love their work. Then I drew Chi from Chobits. This is when the DVDs haven’t come to US yet, so I mainly read the mangas first. I finished all the manga volumes but not the anime DVDs.
I don’t remember a lot in 2002, I’m not sure if I ever submitting this before because I delete a lot of my old arts in 2003. Well, it isn’t the best fanart but I do like it. My skills have improved very quickly over the years. I do see some mistakes like Chi’s back and her leg. I really like how I drew her legs since I tend to have problem drawing legs also, but I do improve now. Yes, I know… my handwriting is kinda sloppy because I was lazy to make it neater. lol No, I didn’t trace this, the reference pic was very small, and so I did my best of drawing it. Acutally no. I won't color this one. This fanart is really old and this is when I was still a beginner anime artist at that time. Also the reason is that I won't "touch" like editing my old arts because I would ruining the whole piece since my art style has improve really fast.
But I do making a new color drawing soon around September.
